Health Plus, Radio Unica, WBLS, and WLIB are partnering to collect coats at four different locations this winter to donate to community organizations that will distribute the garments to the needy.
Last year, Health Plus, the Medicaid managed care organization, collected almost 1,500 coats to distribute to individuals in need. With snow already upon us, the company hopes that this year they will collect more. "Health Plus is committed to providing help in a variety of ways to those in our communities who are in need," says Ada Rodriguez, Chief Marketing Officer for Health Plus. "We're pleased to organize this year's coat drive. We know that it will keep many individuals warm during this frigid winter."
Anyone interested in donating a coat can bring their garments to the following locations on December 14, from 12 noon to 6 pm:
Manhattan State Assemblyman Adriano Espaillat's Office 210 Sherman Avenue between 204th and 207th Streets Washington Heights 12:00PM - 6:00PM
Bronx Joe's Place Restaurant 1841 Westchester Avenue 12:00PM - 6:00PM
Brooklyn Health Plus Office 241 37th Street (loading dock @ corner of 2nd Avenue) 12:00PM - 6:00PM
Queens Health Plus Office 153-17 Jamaica Avenue Jamaica, New York 12:00PM - 6:00PM
