Brooklyn, New York - June 11, 2007 — Last week, as the warm late-spring air wafted across Brooklyn, the Polonaise Terrace, at 150 Greenpoint Avenue, opened its doors to many prominent guests, as the famous Seneca Club of Kings County hosted its 108th Annual Dinner Dance: A Salute to Elected Officials and Community Stars.  Managed care organization Health Plus was among the companies voted “Business of the Year.”

On hand to accept the award for Health Plus were Tom Early, Executive Director, and Jonathan Zalisky, Community Relations Associate of Health Plus.  The award was presented to the pair by Assemblyman Vito Lopez, Kings County Democratic Leader, who announced that the honor was in recognition of the dedicated and extremely important work that Health Plus does throughout the community.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Seneca Club, “said Tom Early.  “This organization is more than just a political club; it is a part of our local history. Just standing here, as honorees, in this room, with so many influential leaders in attendance, proves to me that we’re on the right track.  I look forward to continuing our work – serving the people of this great community – and I look forward to strengthening the partnerships we have today and building new ones for the future.”

After Mr. Early and Mr. Zalisky accepted the award, they turned the spotlight over to Geraldo Estevez, Health Plus Community Relations Supervisor, bestowing upon him a Community Service Award on behalf of the Seneca Club.  “It has been his hard work,” Mr. Early explained, “that truly facilitates our ability to do as much as we do for the community. Geraldo’s leadership -- whether working with religious groups or school-based organizations -- has been instrumental in allowing our team to be in six different places at once.”
