Manhattan, NY - August 2, 2006 — On a day that promised record-high temperatures, police officers from throughout the five boroughs of New York City gathered in local communities to take part in the “National Night Out Against Crime” – now a twenty-three-year-old tradition. As always, managed care organization Health Plus was present to support the cause and to sponsor the day’s activities, sponsoring 31 events around town. Each event was brimming with Health Plus staff and volunteers, as well as representatives from the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of New York, all working hard to ensure a safe and successful “night out.”

As part of the day’s activities, Health Plus was saluted by various NYPD precincts, and presented with certificates of recognition for their continued support in the fight for a crime-free New York.  “It’s great to be recognized for the things that we do, especially by the city that we love,” says Executive Director of Health Plus, Tom Early.  “It’s a city that most of us at health Plus call home, and crime in this city is our concern, too.”

Michelle Cardona, Marketing Business Representative of Health Plus, shares the “night out” with police officers of the 44th Precinct at Mullay Park in the Bronx – just one of 31 events sponsored by the managed care organization.
