Health Plus, the managed care provider, held a community Health Fair at its Jamaica office to support Cover The Uninsured Week, a national effort to raise awareness of the plight of the 44 million uninsured in America today.
Health Plus took the opportunity to enroll attendees in need into their free or affordable health insurance plans. Additionally, Community Food Resource Center was on hand to enroll people in need of food stamps into that program.
"Health Plus is once again a major sponsor of Cover The Uninsured Week," says Health Plus's Queens Marketing Manager Joseph Bouquet. "We know that holding a community health fair is a great way to bring this national struggle home to many of Queen’s neediest residents."
