Health Plus Sponsors Pan American Games New York Torch Run
Parade Salutes 2003 Games To Be Held In The Dominican Republic

Bronx, NY - June 10, 2003 — Eighty athletes, currently participating in or veterans of the Pan American Games, carried the "Pan Am" torch, along with parade goers celebrating the games, though-out uptown Manhattan.
 
The "Pan Am" torch was brought to New York before it makes its way to the Dominican Republic for this year's competition, beginning August 1st, in which athletes from American Countries compete for medals in 32 different sporting events. Health Plus, the Medicaid managed care organization, sponsored the torch run, which started at 135th and Broadway, and the concert ceremony concluding the day at Highbridge Park.
