Retention

The retention department is responsible for assisting members in maintaining their health insurance.  Retention staff assist members with the annual recertification process and work to resolve any issues members may have that prevent them from re-enrolling.  The department consists of four units:

Marketing Call Center:  The Marketing Call Center answers all incoming calls from prospective members and members calling to recertify.  The call center team screens applicants for Health Care Plus, Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus and Medicare Elite.  They set up appointments at all locations, connect members with the appropriate team for assistance, provide renewal dates and answer member questions.  If you would like to make an appointment to apply or recertify or have questions regarding available health plans, the application process, the provider network, your annual renewal date, or Health Plus locations please contact the marketing call center at 1-888-809-8009.

Medicaid and FHP Recertification:  The Medicaid and FHP team assists members with recertifying in Health Care Plus and Family Health Plus.  If you are a Medicaid or FHP member, a member of this team will contact you approximately 90 days prior to your renewal date to remind you that your annual renewal date is approaching.  The staff member will offer assistance in completing the New York City Human Resources Administration renewal package. This package is mailed directly to members by the NYC Human Resources Administration. Members who come to one of our locations for assistance will have the package hand delivered to the Human Resources Administration by our team. Members that are unable to make it to a Health Plus location may request a home visit. 

Child Health Plus Recertification:  The Child Health Plus recertification team assists families with recertifying their children in Child Health Plus.  If you have a child/children in Child Health Plus a member of this team will contact you 90 days prior to the annual recertification date.  Health Plus provides the application necessary to recertify your children in Child Health Plus and will assist you in completing the application.  If you are unable to come to a Health Plus location you may request an application by mail or a home visit from a member of the team. 

Presumptive/Quality Team:  The presumptive/quality team is responsible for reviewing applications to ensure they are complete and all necessary documentation is provided.  Members recertifying in HCP and FHP must submit a complete application before it can be submitted to the Human Resources Administration.  Members applying or recertifying in Child Health Plus may qualify for presumptive enrollment (60 days of coverage while all documentation is gathered and submitted).  This team works with members to ensure all applications are complete within the appropriate time frames to ensure continuous health coverage for our members.
