North General Hospital has a well-earned reputation for providing expert urban healthcare. For the more than 6000 Health Plus members already living in Harlem, this partnership will bring an increase in access to quality healthcare services, as they will now have access to an additional fifteen primary care physicians, and seventy-two specialists, including 4 OB/GYNs.

Since the addition of North General to the Health Plus network, hundreds of Harlem residents have signed up to become Health Plus’s newest members and many more are expected to join as well. 

Founded in 1979 by Eugene McCabe and Randolph Guggenheimer, North General was established in the belief that people of Central and East Harlem should have access to the highest quality care in their own community.  Health Plus has tied that keystone message in with its own mission to offer quality and affordable healthcare to all of New York City and beyond.
