Achievements
The quarter-million members enrolled in our programs represent an outstanding accomplishment. Having more people with health coverage in our communities strengthens all of us, and helps everyone work together to stay healthy.

Our achievements have not gone unnoticed:

  • Health Plus is ranked fifth on Crain's New York Business list of the largest managed care organizations in NYC.
  • Our low voluntary disenrollment rates indicate that members are satisfied with our programs.
  • Our annual Member Satisfaction Survey results show that:

    • Over 91% our members think the quality of medical care they received from a Health Plus provider was "excellent."
    • Over 93% or our members rated Health Plus "good to best."
  • The New York State Department of Health's 2003 Consumer’s Guide to Medicaid Managed Care in New York City rated Health Plus number one in quality and member satisfaction for the fourth year in a row.  We have consistently ranked "above average" in:

    • Overall access and service (both adults and children).
    • Percent of 2-year-olds who were completely immunized.
    • Percent of adolescents (age 12-21) who received a well-care visit.
    • Percent of members with asthma (adults and children) receiving appropriate medication.
    • Percent of expectant mothers receiving a prenatal visit in their first trimester.
    • Percent of members who would recommend the plan to their family or friends.
  • In the 2003 Consumer Assessment of Health Plans (CAHPS) Member Satisfaction Survey, members rated Health Plus above the Medicaid average in customer service, complaint resolution, and provider communication.
  • Our 2003 Provider Satisfaction Survey showed that plan physicians are pleased with our claims payment and credentialing process.

And we're particularly proud to have received last month what is the equivalent of the "Oscars" in the health insurance field: the 2004 Ellis J. Bonner Community Leadership Award for community service and outstanding contributions in healthcare.

We were recognized for our "Keeping Kids in School Asthma Education Program" that was developed, in partnerships with the New York City Department of Education and other agencies, to increase asthma awareness and management, and improve the quality of life of children with asthma in underserved communities.
