Bronx, New York - May 22, 2007 — – This past Sunday in the Bronx, after several days of rain, the sun finally came out -- and so, too, did thousands of Puerto Rican and revelers of all origins, lining the sidewalks along the Grand Concourse, between 181st Street and 165th Street, to enjoy the 19th Annual Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade. This parade, though smaller than the enormous parade launched each June on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue, is a cherished Bronx tradition that has been held each summer for nearly two decades.

For many, this celebration brings together the perfect mix of spectacle and intimacy. The community gets together to dance in the streets, eat traditional foods, or just sit back and enjoy the music and the company of friends and loved ones.
