On a Saturday with picture-perfect spring weather, this family-oriented event took place in front of the Health Max on 5th Ave between 54th and 55th streets in Sunset Park Brooklyn. Those in attendance were offered free cotton candy, give-a-ways, face-painting, and a chance to learn about free and affordable healthcare from Health Plus.
“I think everyone feels a little bit Mexican on Cinco de Mayo,” said Tom Early, Executive Director of Health Plus, “kind of like the way everyone feels Irish on St Patrick’s Day. It is always so beautiful to see people of cultures coming together to celebrate their neighbor’s heritage.”
