Brooklyn, NY - July 27, 2006 — Multiple Grammy-award-winning superstar Julio Iglesias stepped onto Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz’s stage at Asser Levy Seaside Park in Brooklyn last night – just one of the many exhilarating events taking place this summer at the Seaside Concert Series, sponsored by managed care organization Health Plus.

One of the best-selling recording artists of all time, the Latin crooner serenaded his audience – both young and old – with his signature ballads, as he performed some of his memorable classics and introduced new material from his upcoming album, “Romantic Classics”,  slated to be released in September.

Iglesias, who was to perform at Seaside the night of the 2003 blackout, had returned to make good on his promise to perform for his Brooklyn fans. And, as expected, the scorching summer heat and mid-concert downpour proved no match for the many in attendance who eagerly anticipated the Spanish singer’s performance. Nonetheless, Health Plus staff members were on hand to distribute fans, food, and refreshments to the guests to help mitigate the extreme weather.

“Having a musical icon like Julio Iglesias grace the stage of the Seaside Concert Series is a real treat for the Latino community, as well as for me,” says Ada Rodriguez, Chief Marketing Officer of Health Plus.  “I, along with my staff at Health Plus, am a big fan of his music.  We’re so pleased to be able to sponsor an event that brings such joy and excitement to the community we serve.”

Latin sensation, Julio Iglesias captivated the hearts of Brooklyn, including Janet E. Willis, Yvette Rosado, Ada Rodriguez, and Grisel Ortiz, of Health Plus, major sponsors of the Brooklyn Borough President’s Seaside Concert Series.

Delighted concert goers cool off with Community Relations Manager, Rolland Garcia of Health Plus, as they await the long-anticipated performance of Julio Iglesias at Asser Levy Seaside Park .
