The event took place on a hot summer day on the turf of Hofstra University’s James M. Shuart Stadium, located in Nassau County, where Health Plus recently expanded its services. With 14 offices already established throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Health Plus is furthering its reach, through events like this, into neighboring Nassau County.
“Partnering with a great, home-based organization like the New York Jets,” says Jospeh Bouquet, Regional Marketing manager of Queens and Nassau County for Health Plus, “is a wonderful way for us to meet the people and the communities we want to serve here in Nassau. We have a more than twenty year history of collaborating with community-based organizations – like the Jets – who really know what their constituencies want and need. Being able to offer the children a chance to see how a football team trains, and meet former football stars is something that we love to do.”
Gastineau and Schroy spent the day coaching the kids, as they tossed footballs and ran scrimmages through the park. After they had their football fun, Gastineau and Schroy cheerfully autographed water bottles and Jets jerseys and footballs for their adoring fans.
Assemblyman David G. McDonough, Councilwoman Angie M. Cullin, Max Rodriguez, Assistant to Town Clerk, Town Clerk Mark A. Bonilla, and Jets legends Mark Gastineau and Kenny Schroy gather with Health Plus staff members.
