Brooklyn, NY - March 20, 2006 — Last Thursday morning, at a festive breakfast co-hosted by Yvonne J. Graham, Deputy Borough President, and Borough President Marty Markowitz, six successful Brooklyn women were honored for their diverse contributions to Brooklyn, including Chief Marketing Officer for Health Plus, Ada Rodriguez – who was given the Emily Roebling Business Women’s Award. The 2006 Brooklyn Power Women’s Networking Breakfast and Women’s Herstory Induction Ceremony, held in the rotunda of Brooklyn’s Borough Hall, was just one of the ways that the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office marked women’s history month.

“To be recognized in the company of so many wonderful women,” said Ms. Rodriguez, upon accepting her award, “is quite an honor itself. I feel blessed to work for a company that supports and promotes women; and thrilled to be based in a borough with leadership like Yvonne and Marty’s, where the work women do is acknowledged by events like this.
