Brooklyn, NY - February 26, 2004 — Health Plus has awarded Jan Lewoniuk, the company’s top marketing representative, its 2003 Employee of the year award.

Lewoniuk enrolled more people who were in need of healthcare than any of his colleagues in the entire managed care organization. In addition to being the company's strongest marketer, he was also selected to receive the award for his exceptionally hard work and great attitude.

"I used to market in Europe, and there it is much more laid back, when I came to America and saw the aggressiveness, it inspired me," Jan says.

Lewoniuk, originally from Poland, now of Bensonhurst, got the nickname "Mayor of Greenpoint" from his colleagues because of his renown in the north Brooklyn Polish community.

"The community knows him and knows he can help them," says the company's Chief Marketing Officer Ada Rodriguez. "They really appreciate and depend upon his work."

Lewoniuk joined Health Plus in May of 1998. "When I started, I was the first person from Health Plus, or any Medicaid managed care company, to target New York’s Polish community," says Lewonick.

"Even though he owes a great deal of success to his ties with the Polish community, don't think that is the only reason for his good marketing numbers; he is outstanding when it comes to enrolling anyone," says his manager, Angel Rivera. "The Health Plus marketing team is culturally and linguistically diverse to serve New York’s City's many communities."

The Health Plus Employee of the Year award consists of a plaque and a check for $1,000. In addition to receiving the Employee of the Year award, Jan has also been recognized as Employee of the Month and Employee of the Quarter.

"I am happy to work for Health Plus," says Lewoniuk. "It is a great honor to be with such a strong company that will always be number one."
